Growing up in two spaces, in between spaces. I'm from here, and I'm from there. An open yard with brown soil in Mexico, running with freedom as a child from the Cicero alleys. Running the alleys, running from street violence, playing baseball, and fútbol, and running to visit my grandmother across the way when she came to visit. I can't deny the fears and the joys these spaces brought me, and I celebrate them with roses.
