A photograph series of grandma Chevita in four different locations. A cemetery in Guanajuato, Mexico, a home in Chicago and surrounding suburbs, and her home in Ocampo, Mexico. Flowers on the quilt were appliqued in collaboration with many different family members of the Yepez family. The image was taken on the crops, her smile is subtle but you can feel her joy. She uses a cane and stands with confidence. —Chevita in my heart.
